Cultural celebrations like Diwali give students opportunities to celebrate and learn about different cultures and religious traditions.
Of course, when we say "diversity," we mean much more than racial and ethnic diversity, though those are the most visible examples. It also can mean differences in things like culture, religion, perspectives, or socioeconomic status. We are a community of different backgrounds and voices. Celebrating our differences and commonalities deepens our understanding connection to ourselves, to one another, and to God.

Viji Panda works with faculty, staff and the board of trustees to ensure that diversity and inclusion initiatives are integrated throughout the school, as defined by our mission and core values and guided by our Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan and the NAES Principles of Good Practice for Equity & Justice. Viji is a member of the leadership team.

We invite special guests to share their stories so we may learn how we are much more alike than different and how we can work together for the greater good. We want our students to hear, learn and understand different voices so they can grow up to become thoughtful community leaders.
