Our Approach

Kelly Martin was born and raised in Central Texas. Her family looked at many preschools and enrolled in four before joining Blue House Preschool in 2020. She said they finally feel at home.

"The most important thing for us was finding a preschool with experienced teachers. A small class size was super important. A school that felt like a community, I think, was the definitive factor for us."

She said her daughter and son truly enjoy coming to school every day, which is a relief! Separation from parents at that age can be a challenge. Her kids sometimes even argue about which of them loves their teacher more!

"My children's favorite thing about Blue House Preschool is definitely the teachers," Kelly said. "The staff [and] all the teachers not only know my children by their first name...but also, they really know who they are. My daughter comes home...and she always references how much she loves learning from Ms. Rafiq. I am just blown away at the things that my son is able to do."

Kelly said the little things are why she and her family feel at home at Blue House Preschool. The morning drop-off is efficient, which helps her save time on her way to work. The staff sends daily and weekly updates, including photos, so she always feels informed about what's happening.

"We love Blue House Preschool because not only the community, but also the communication," she said.

Kelly said she appreciates that Blue House Preschool has a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces her kids can explore throughout the day. In addition to the classrooms, the campus features three play areas, a sandbox, a swimming pool, and a gym. Children aren't limited to one classroom and one playground, so they can follow their curiosity.

The pool has been a surprisingly nice feature of campus for Kelly's daughter. During the summer program, she swam ever day, which Kelly said dramatically improved her dexterity and confidence in the pool without the need for private swim lessons.
